Senior Organometallic Synthesis Scientist

The initial responsibility for this person will be to help get their lab set up and functioning.  This role assumes active collaboration with other labs locations in Russia and occasional travel abroad and to the domestic clients.  As the lab and manufacturing get functional, this person will:

  • Be hands-on designing and performing synthetic experiments
  • Scale-up products in manufacturing and support manufacturing of existing products
  • Help hire, train, and mentor a staff of chemists as the company grows
  • Work directly with customers to understand their needs and oversee product trials when necessary
  • There will be occasional international travel to chemical suppliers as well as domestic travel to customers

Requirements:

  • PhD in Organic and Organometallic Chemistry
  • The ideal candidate will possess 10+ years total experience in an industrial chemical synthesis and production organization (minimum 5 years)
  • Prefer two to four years managing a team or teams in the development and production of high purity inorganic and organometallic compounds. Will look at candidates that have managed projects (not people directly) in this area
  • They would like to see candidates with IP experience (patent holder, co-inventor, etc.) but not required
  • Experience designing experiments and analysis of experimental data
  • Understanding of chemical vapor deposition and ion implantation processes
  • Needs to be hands-on! They are just now finding a facility to manufacture and set up their lab.  Initially, this person will be very hands-on in the lab!
  • Mentoring and leading – ability to assemble, build, manage and lead a team of highly skilled chemists in high-tech chemical synthesis and production development
  • Technical writing – proven ability to generate detailed research reports and one or more papers published in peer reviewed journal
