Senior Research and Development Scientist- Bakery
The Senior Research and Development Scientist- Bakery leads the development and commercialization of both new and existing product concepts, operating independently from ideation through full implementation. Primary product categories include cookies, bars, crackers, gluten-free products, and extruded snacks.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead and manage product development initiatives from concept through commercialization, with strong emphasis on manufacturing processes
· Facilitate the successful transfer of technical knowledge to the Operations team following commercialization
· Design and implement research programs focused on cost optimization
· Identify technical challenges and lead cross-functional investigations to determine root causes
· Partner closely with Manufacturing and Supply Chain teams during commercialization efforts
· Establish and recommend product specifications and quality standards for both new and existing products
· Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including Procurement, Marketing, Project Management, Sales, Regulatory, Quality, and Operations
· Serve as a technical leader within the organization and for external clients
· Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adapting priorities as business needs evolve
· Mentor, guide, and oversee the work of other scientists on the team
· Perform additional duties as assigned

Job Requirements
Education and Experience
· 5-10 years of experience in food product development, with a strong focus on plant commercialization of bakery products
· Demonstrated success in bringing new product concepts to market
· Experience mentoring and developing team members
· Bachelor’s or master’s degree in food science, Food Engineering, Bakery Science, or a related field preferred; equivalent education and relevant plant commercialization experience will also be considered
