Senior Scientist

Seeking a Sr. Food Scientist, responsible for specification development and implementation, laboratory dry blending and filing, storage testing, flavor evaluation, color blending, and sample/raw materials maintenance, as well as attending account calls and visits.

Seeking an innovator in new product development and continuous improvement, where the ideal candidate will prioritize ways to maximize creativity and grow with the company.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • With support from leadership, prioritize projects and department objectives to meet company goals
  • Owning product development projects including optimization through hands-on formulation work
  • Apply your technical know-how and knowledge of Food Science and food manufacturing processes to lead R&D projects
  • Assist to maintain a collaborative work environment with cross-functional teams to streamline R&D efforts with company strategies for growth and revenue
  • Embrace a positive culture with fellow employees emphasizing creativity, collaboration, respect, and professionalism in the workplace
  • Own your R&D projects, voicing allocation, and timeline to deliver projects through the finish line
  • Ensure you work within R&D project guideline and activities to align with regulatory requirements, food safety, quality, and labeling regulations
  • Resolve technical challenges and provide solutions to improve product quality

Job Requirements

Technical Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science or similar
  • Demonstrated experience in owning R&D projects and providing examples of outcomes
  • Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Benchtop to commercialization in CPG, ingredients or flavors required
  • Being an ambassador of the company, representing the company to customers as well as at industry events / tradeshows
  • Excellent communication, time management, ability to multi-task, pivot when necessary and delivery positive results
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Food Science, food manufacturing processes, and an understanding of food safety principles
