Silicone Formulation & Scale Up Chemist

The Silicone Formulation & Scale Up Chemist will have the following responsibilities:

  • Apply company silicone and silane technologies to various industries/markets: develop, improve and customize prototype formulas to meet/exceed customer needs (Application development for current and newly developed products)
  • Develop new products and new applications for existing products
  • Scale up products and support manufacturing
  • Monitor and reorder lab supplies and materials
  • Develop knowledge for shipping samples to customers
  • Write technical papers and reports; prepare standards and specifications for products and tests
  • Prepare small batch samples for customer sampling; scale up products from laboratory to production
  • Keep the lab and formulas in compliance with safety, regulatory and industrial standards
  • Work collaboratively in teams to brainstorm solutions to existing and new products; maintain good working relationships with all team members
  • Attend technical seminars and conferences to understand current and new innovations

  • BS degree
  • Formulation and product scale up into manufacturing of silicones
  • Silicone formulation in one of the following areas:
    • Water Repellents
      • Rock Wool Waterproofing
      • Resin Emulsion Waterproofing
      • Solvent Waterproofing
