We are seeking an experienced Senior Linux Engineer with a strong background in bare metal environments to join our dynamic high-frequency trading (HFT) team in Chicago. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining our high-performance, low-latency trading infrastructure. You will work closely with software developers, network engineers, and traders to ensure our systems operate at peak performance and reliability.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage bare metal Linux servers for low-latency trading environments.
• Optimize system performance, including kernel tuning, hardware configuration, and networking.
• Troubleshoot complex system issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate trading applications with the underlying infrastructure.
• Automate deployment and configuration processes using scripting and configuration management tools.
• Monitor system performance and implement proactive measures to ensure high availability.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve our infrastructure.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a Linux Engineer, with a focus on bare metal environments.
• In-depth knowledge of Linux operating systems (preferably Red Hat, CentOS, or Ubuntu).
• Experience with performance tuning and optimization of Linux systems for low-latency applications.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl.
• Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
• Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, multicast, and low-latency networking.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Prior experience in the financial services industry, particularly in high-frequency trading, is a plus
