Job Description
Sr/Scientist-Meat
Reporting directly to the Vice President of R&D, this role will interface cross-functionally with departments such as Product Development, Regulatory, Culinary, Sales, Accounting, and Operations. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate innovative dry seasoning blends for industrial food manufacturing customers
- Manage multiple development projects in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
- Contribute to the enhancement of product development processes, from benchtop formulation to scale-up and production
- Identify and source new raw materials and supplier partnerships to elevate product uniqueness and quality
- Collaborate with flavor houses and suppliers to develop or discover new ingredients
- Deliver technical presentations to internal stakeholders and clients

Salary
$90,000 - $120,000

Job Requirements
Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Food Science, Meat Science, or a closely related field
- 4+ years of experience in product development and commercialization, preferably within processed meats
- Strong project management skills and in-depth technical knowledge of food processing
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially PowerPoint); experience with FRM (Formula Recipe Management) is a plus
- Background in meat science and/or meat processing is required
- Food service industry experience is a plus
