Sr. Buyer, Fire/Safety Protection  

Due to tremendous growth, my client, a $3B leading engineering and construction contractor is seeking a Sr. Buyer / Sr. Procurement Engineer to support their Life Safety Fire Alarm business in Arlington, VA.

In this role, you will be an integral part of a growing firm working on mission critical projects. 

This role is key in bridging engineering and procurement functions, ensuring that all sourced materials, components, and systems meet technical specifications, cost targets, and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical sourcing activities for electrical, mechanical, and electro-mechanical components, systems, and assemblies for assigned projects.
• Evaluate and select suppliers based on technical capability, cost, quality, and delivery performance.
• Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to drive continuous improvement and cost reduction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management or Business Admin
• 3-10 Years of experience in an engineering or procurement role
• Strong technical background in electrical and/or mechanical systems, ability to interpret complex drawings and specifications. 
• Product knowledge - fire, safety alarm
• Demonstrated success in supplier negotiations, cost analysis, and value engineering.
• Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems, sourcing tools, 
• Excellent communication and project management skills.

*Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain security clearance
