Sr. Chemist

Research and develop new product and make improvements to existing company products through analysis, formulation and experimentation, including new technologies, to determine suitability for use in company products.  You will also provide technical support for sales, marketing and operations through analysis, product testing and interpretation of lab results.  Specific responsibilities include:

• New product development projects requiring extensive research, technology qualification and formulation development and testing, including researching novel technologies, to evaluate the potential for new applications
• Working closely with plant engineers and quality control managers to develop manufacturing procedures for new products
• Conducting plant trials to qualify new products
• Providing technical support to marketing and sales
• Reformulating existing products to reduce cost, improve performance, or integrate technologies
• Keeping detailed records of work performed (lab notebook), writing Completion Reports as projects are finished, and entering raw materials and formulas into formulation management software
• Performing calibration and preventative maintenance, and maintaining a clean and safe work area
• Attending technical meetings and provide training to other lab associates as needed

Technical Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Material (Polymer) Science; with 5 years’ experience in the related field
• Ability to operate mid-size mixing equipment and various testing equipment
• Ability to work with many types of chemicals, both hazardous and non-hazardous
