Sr. Formulation Scientist

The duties and responsibilities of the Sr. Formulation Scientist will include the following:

  • Lead the formulation development efforts of new agricultural products, including biological and chemical active ingredients such as micro-organisms, proteins, peptides, plant extracts, viruses, natural derived or synthetic chemicals.
  • Collaborate with our clients to ensure alignment between formulation development, regulatory requirements, and commercial objectives.
  • Design and optimize formulation compositions to improve product performance, stability, and efficacy.
  • Conduct laboratory experiments and tests to evaluate the physical and chemical properties of formulations.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory developments in agricultural formulations and actively contribute to innovative ideas and new approaches.
  • Follow established protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for safe and efficient laboratory practices.
  • Record and document all experimental information and organize, analyze, summarize, and report the final results.
  • Communicate effectively with other team members and our clients. Present experimental results and progress in group discussions and project updates.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members as needed.

$100,000 - $120,000

Job Requirements

Technical Qualifications:

  • PhD or Master’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, material science or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in agricultural formulation development, preferably in a research or industrial setting.
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and commercializing innovative agricultural products.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and guidelines governing agricultural formulations.
  • Fast learner with strong curiosity and passion in biological and chemical formulations and hands-on experimentation.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation and a willingness to take risks.
  • Enthusiastic about the opportunity to contribute to the growth of a small start-up company.
