Sr. R&D Chemist ATF & EV Lubricants

The object of this role is to develop ATF and EV formulations to meet the technical needs of key global OEMs as directed by manager

Responsibilities:

  • Technical lead and/or project lead for customer specific and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) based formulations globally as directed. Visit customers / OEMs as needed
  • Performs formulation and testing activities to meet established project objectives. Effective project management via use of the company Product Development Process
  • Participates in technical and /or project reviews and presents findings as appropriate for internal and external audiences
  • Build relationships and be the primary technical resource for formulation questions for supported OEMs
  • Engages with assigned teams and cross-functional stakeholders, such as Business, Process Development, Marketing, CTS (Customer Technical Services), Mechanical Testing, OEM Relationship Team, etc.
  • Represent the company in technical conferences, societies and other industry activities. Maintain adequate level of technical expertise and self-development through study, seminars, etc.  Stay informed of advanced developments inside and outside of the company
  • Provide strategic insight of OEM opportunities
  • Promote the company’s culture, values, quality, and safety principles

Job Requirements

Technical Qualifications:

Education & Experience Minimums:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering (or other relevant science field)
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of lubricant chemistry and/or engineering principles and application in a research and development environment typically acquired after at least 10 years of relevant experience

Education & Experience Preferred:

  • Advanced degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering (or other relevant science field); PhD is strongly preferred
  • Experience directly related to applicable product or product category (ATF formulations)
