Sr. R&D Manager – Yogurt

The Senior R&D Manager for developing and driving with marketing function innovation pipeline for the Brands he / she is in charge of based on consumer and market understanding, and for the management of a team of product developer(s) and research technologist(s).  He/she is accountable for an innovation, renovation and productivity projects portfolio, from selection to implementation in factories and launch follow up, insuring product superiority on shelf.  This position involves strong interactions with internal cross functional team and external suppliers, including company R&D community World Wide, and the management of a team of 3-5 people.

The candidate must be able to represent R&D interest within the company during all projects.


  • Managing and developing a team of 3-5 people
  • Developing with marketing function an innovation (1-3 year) pipeline for the Brands he/she is in charge of, and with supply chain function a productivity project portfolio
  • Managing with cross functional team complex projects of PRODUCT innovation, renovation and productivity, according to STAGE GATE PROCESS methodology
  • Delivering within consumer expectations (drive product attribute definition vs consumers expectations), timing and costs portfolio of projects he/she is in charge of
  • Delivering first time write on shelf products thanks technical risk assessment approach and strong collaboration with supply chain and Quality departments and technical know-how
  • Developing technical know-how on nutrients (incorporation, handling, preservations…) and key ingredients such as dairy ingredients, plant-based milk alternatives, hydrocolloids, fruits…
  • Developing and managing collaborations with suppliers to leverage the potential of bringing in outside ideas and technical solutions
  • Improving working processes of R&D within R&D and at the interface with the other functions
  • Networking with global R&D community to share and bring in best practices, being also the SPOC (Single Point Of Contact) of company R&D on some brands for the rest of the company R&D community

  • Master’s Degree in Food Science or closely related field
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in a related field, preferably CPG Industry
  • Experience in people development and team management, and strong leadership skills
  • Strong technical skills on product formulation, industrial processes and manufacturing practices
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Know-how in project management / organization
  • Know-how in consumer understanding and sensory profiling tools
  • Flexibility to travel (25%)
  • English mandatory, French and/or Spanish a plus
