Sr. Toxicologist
Our client is seeking a Sr. Toxicologist with experience in Mammalian toxicology and consortium involvement. As a Sr. Toxicologist for this industrial chemical company, you will be hands on in risk assessment, regulatory affairs, EU Reach, leading consortia/industry association meetings, and serving external stakeholders. This requires U.S. Citizenship and MAMMALIAN TOXICOLOGY experience. Reporting to the Toxicology Team Manager, you will provide expert advice to the business division, by the application of professional judgment in toxicology and issue management expertise.

Role and Responsibilities
The role is expected to be heavily involved in PU (Polyurethane) consortium, III and EU REACH registration
One should be familiar with EU REACH, Read-across / Grouping and strongly negotiate with external stakeholders. She/He would be expected to join many external online/offline meetings with stakeholders while may focus on (surely not limited to) the human health expertise.
In summary, as the Sr. Toxicologist, you will:
- Contribute to and lead the planning, outsourcing, monitoring and evaluation of toxicology testing including higher tier mammalian toxicology DART & inhalation studies
- Support the business with risk assessment expertise in all stage of product development (R&D of new chemical / products and / or new markets and uses)
- Performs regulatory risk and impact assessments to ensure product sustainability and ensure effective communication to internal stakeholders
- Contribute to the development of strategic business plans which minimize risks to the global product portfolio allowing market continuity
- Be the focal point for regulatory toxicology related issue management and substance defense including advocacy bodies, the preparation and coordination of company’s communication, active participation in discussions and meetings with the authorities related to the business’ product portfolio
- Externally represent the Company in trade associations and industry groups with the goal to develop and advance new methodologies and frameworks for chemical safety assessment
- Liaise with external experts where needed to ensure sufficient expertise for special projects
- When required supervise associates and assist in mentoring / training aspects of resource development

Job Requirements
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Education
- Advanced Degree (Master / PhD) with 10 years of relevant professional experience preferably in an international company in the chemical or pharmaceutical sector, or at CRO
Experiences
- Mammalian Toxicology Experience
- Experience in regulatory toxicology, risk assessment & risk management (DART and/or inhalation toxicology experience is an advantage)
- Experience in exposure assessment preferably with the use of tools such as EASYTRA, CHESAR, ChemSTEER
- Experience with consortia and trade association work is essential
- OECD study monitoring / directorship specifically for OECD 422, 443 and 414
- ECHA and Member state communications such as failure to respond follow up and draft decision commenting
Skills and Knowledge
- Excellent knowledge & practical experience with REACH & TSCA and other chemical legislations
- Knowledge of standard toxicological methods as well as use of in silico tools (QSARs) and read across . Experience with the IUCLID tool
- Fluency in English
- Ability to work with colleagues globally in a multi-cultural environment and in a hybrid setting is essential
- Occasional travel will be required
