Subcontracts Procurement Buyer
Due to tremendous growth, my client, a $3B leading engineering and construction contractor is seeking a Subcontracts Procurement Professional to develop, negotiate, and administer subcontracts of moderate value, risk, and complexity. Reporting to a Subcontracts Manager, this position will this position will ensure that subcontractors are selected and in place for mission critical projects primarily related to security systems installations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, negotiate, and administer subcontracts in accordance with client requirements and procurement policies.
- Prepare complex solicitations and support proposal activities.
- Conduct price and cost analysis and negotiate pricing, terms, and subcontract provisions.
- Manage subcontracts typically valued up to $100,000, with opportunities to support higher-value agreements.
- Partner with program and procurement teams to ensure supplier performance and compliance.
- Identify and recommend process improvements.
- Provide guidance, training, and mentoring to less experienced team members.
- Work with suppliers, internal customers, procurement teams, and senior management as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required. Preferred in Supply Chain Management, Business or Engineering
- 1+ years of experience in supply chain, subcontracts, procurement, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of procurement practices, contract law, finance, and accounting.
- Ability to independently manage non-routine assignments and exercise sound judgment.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
