Category Sourcing Manager – Capital Equipment
Remote (Preferably Midwest, Southeast, East Coast) | Travel 20–25%
Well-established chemical manufacturer looking for a strong sourcing professional to own capital equipment procurement across North America. This is a high-impact role partnering with engineering, manufacturing, and project teams to drive supplier strategy, negotiations, and total cost of ownership.
What we need to see:
• 5+ years with a bachelor’s OR 10+ years without a degree in progressive buying/sourcing
• Technical background with capital equipment (process, mechanical, electrical, rotating, instrumentation)
• Experience negotiating complex equipment & service contracts
• Preferred industries: specialty chemical, petrochemical, or pharmaceutical manufacturing
• ERP experience (SAP ideal) + strong Excel/data skills
What you’ll do:
• Build category strategies for major process & fixed equipment
• Lead RFx events and supplier negotiations
• Partner with engineering & operations on capital projects
• Manage supplier performance, warranties, and risk
• Deliver measurable savings and productivity improvements
