Synthetic Organic Chemist
Job Description
Base salary $100,000-$120,000

Join an innovative R&D organization developing novel organic molecules for next-generation materials. This is a highly hands-on laboratory role where you'll design synthetic routes, solve complex chemistry challenges, and collaborate with multidisciplinary scientists to bring new technologies to life.
Requirements:
- PhD in Organic Chemistry or a closely related field
- Strong background in multi-step organic synthesis (graduate research experience counts)
- Industry experience preferred but not required; outstanding PhD graduates, postdocs, and research organization candidates are encouraged to apply
- Experience with analytical techniques including NMR, GC, LC, and mass spectrometry
- Ability to design practical synthetic pathways using scientific literature
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
- Passion for fundamental organic chemistry and scientific innovation
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and synthesize novel organic molecules at the laboratory scale
- Develop and optimize multi-step synthetic routes and methodologies
- Perform purification techniques including chromatography, distillation, and crystallization
- Characterize reaction products using analytical instrumentation
- Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks and technical documentation
- Present research findings and recommend next steps to project teams
- Collaborate with cross-functional R&D scientists to support product development
- Provide technical insight to internal stakeholders while promoting a safe laboratory environment
