Technical Sales Manager – Midwest Territory
Specialty chemical manufacturer is looking for an experienced technical sales manager to join their organization and develop new business! If you have experience working as a chemist in the CASE industry and have transitioned to a commercial sales role, this could be a great opportunity for you! This position is responsible for managing the sales and the marketing and developing new customers and new applications by planning and implementing the Mid Term Plan (MTP) and the budget in the Mid-West US Region as well as optimizing offering of products and solutions to customers and value chain partners, and performing administrative functions as necessary, in order to enrich the Company’s business portfolio and to increase its sales in this same region.
- Developing new business
- Implements and achieves the MTP and Budget
- Drives marketing activities
- Increases Sales
- Manages accounts and provides customer support
- Act as product line development leader when applicable
- Ensures product compliance
- Ability to set pricing
- Interact with sales and purchasing
- Speak technically with customers to understand their needs
- EPA and TOSCA understanding for compliance
- 30% is forming existing business
- 70% is hunting for new business
- Travel up to 3 weeks per month is expected
Salary
$120,000 - $150,000

Job Requirements
Technical Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, polymer science, or related
- At least five years of experience working as a chemist in the lab (can be formulation, application, technical service)
- At least five years’ experience in sales and/or marketing positions in packaging, polymer, plastic, coatings or chemical industry
- Track record of success in leading teams and growth initiatives
- Experience working in a global team and matrix organization a plus
- Experience and success in “pull-through” sales a plus
