Job Description
My client, a boutique fund accounting firm in Chicago is seeking a Senior Fund Accountant with strong experience in Hedge Fund and Private Equity accounting. The firm serves a wide variety of Hedge Funds, Commodity Pools, Private Investment Funds, Commodity Trading Advisors, Registered Investment Advisors, and Broker/Dealers as well as assist clients with Introducing Brokers and Futures accounting, fund administration, tax, systems and regulatory matters.
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, accounting workpaper packages and investor reporting packages.
- Calculate management fees, carried interest/waterfall calculations, and manage subsequent closes including computing interest to/from investors.
- Compile capital calls and distribution calculations and prepare capital call and distributions statements.
- Coordinate with the clients’ external auditors and tax providers to assist with the year-end audits and tax return information.

Job Requirements
Education and Experience:
- 5+ years of accounting experience specifically in the private equity and hedge fund industries.
- Undergraduate degree in accounting.
- CPA a plus.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong analytical skills, detail oriented and highly organized.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects.
