West Coast Technical Account Manager – Coating Resins- Relocation provided for candidates outside of the region

Exciting opportunity to work for a great company that has a significant retention rate, people stay and retire from here!  You’ll manage established accounts covering mostly California with travel to other western states including WA, OR, UT, CO, AZ and Canada.

Primary responsibility of the Account Manager is to drive top line growth (volume) by managing the existing account base while prospecting for new opportunities.  Key to being successful as a Seller is to ‘create value’ and to continually bring on new business so all sales goals are met or exceeded.  Salespeople act as the critical link between the company’s resources and the customer’s needs

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • From a seller perspective, manage all aspects of assigned sales territory so margin growth is maximized. This includes both direct and distribution accounts - 35%
  • Create value as a seller by interfacing with assigned accounts, in order to fully maximize sales - 25%
  • Build and maintain rapport with key decision-makers at strategically important accounts – 10%
  • Develop and implement sales related actions (account planning, account forecasting, account strategy/tactic formation, etc.) – 10%
  • Develop and implement ‘Action Plans’ to maximize volume/profitability in your assigned sales territory (examples: price increase, new business development campaign, volume push, etc.) – 10%
  • In conjunction with the other Account Managers, develop key large accounts within your assigned sales territory – 5%
  • Complete all tasks related to the sale function in a timely manner (forecast reports, sales call reports, monthly reports, expense reports, etc.) – 5%

Job Requirements

Technical Qualifications:

BS/MS Science or Business.  Established understanding of the Coatings Industry and related processes though at least 5 years of technical sales or Technical Service experience in this Coating manufacturing market.  In-depth knowledge of the selling process, company business process, policies, technology, and plant capabilities.  Sales management tools include sales planning and forecast modeling.  Strong presentation skills, oral and written communication skills.  Must have demonstrated reasonable capability in using Excel and working with pivot table to analyze sales data daily.  Experience in using Microsoft Teams, and Salesforce is preferred.  Analytical, problem solving, critical thinking, listening skills, discretionary behavior.  Fluent in English.
