Pay Rate: $60,000-$130,00 depending on level of hire and experience

Wood Coatings Chemist
Privately owned coatings manufacturer is seeking an expert in wood coatings formulation to join their collaborative team! Company is part of a business that is almost100 years old. This group is very customer-focused and Chemists here can make the necessary decisions to support customer needs.
The ideal candidate will work with the sales team to modify existing formulations for performance, cost targets and customer desired attributes as well as do product development. Candidate must be capable of troubleshooting field application issues and work with end users to engineer systems to their specifications. Some light travel may be necessary.

Job Requirements
Technical Qualifications:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in organic chemistry, chemical engineering, polymer chemistry or coatings chemistry
- Minimum of five years of experience with a coatings manufacturer
- Strong computer and record keeping skills
- Strong technical writing / report writing skills
- Must be willing to relocate to area
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
- Ability to work individually and as part of an aggressive, results-oriented team
- The candidate must have a strong work ethic, take pride in his/her accomplishments, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be able to perform in a fast paced, high-energy environment
